Salvinorin
A, a natural
occuring kappa-opioid-receptor agonist
Salvia
divinorum is a subshrub green plant, native to southern mexico, which
contains a powerful opioid receptor acitve diterpene known as salvinorin
A. It is a very selective kappa-opioid-receptor agonist (KOR agonist)
and powerful psychoactive chemical.
We
isolate salvinorin A and the inactive derivative salvinorin B in order
to develop new applications in the field of pain and itching.
